A Brand New Day

A Brand new Day

A Brand New Day

When you awaken in the morning
and see the brightness of the morning sun,
Lock the door on yesterday
and throw away the key.
For God has given you a brand new day,
Another day of love and laughter.
Seize each moment before it flies away,
For sweeter than the fragrant flower is each precious golden hour.
Make today the best day,
The power is yours alone.
Make today the happiest you've ever known.
Yesterday is gone, as in a dream,
Tomorrow is a vision still unseen.
Today is yours to live,
It's treasures you can use.
It can be your best day,
It's up to you to choose!

Dr. Wise Guy

To everyone who reads this blog , Emma's surgery went very well. My lady didn't cry once!!! She is a little sore, but, don't worry she had Daddy carrying her around the house. Dr. Weiss performed the surgery and it took only about 45 min. Pat and I got a kick out of the fact that Emma called him Dr. Wise Guy!!!! In a few days we will be back to normal. Exhale.

Family

The Nason's came down for Thanksgiving this year and what a wonderful visit it was. From the second the girls saw each other they were inseparable. We read stories, did crafts, we even saw Santa on Friday night!!! The girls made Christmas ornaments to hang on our town tree, Pete even made a ginger bread man with a mohawk and a goatee!! We miss them so much already. Soon enough we will be going up to see them!!! YEAH!
On Saturday , Pat put up all of our Christmas lights outside. Thankfully, all that happened this year was that he split his thumb!!! As Usual Elena and Stevie came over to help. It was such a great week. By Sunday we were so tired that we all slept in till 10!
Don't forget everyone that Emma is going in for surgery to take out her port on the 10th. Please keep us in your prayers that day! And oh ya 10 days to go till the END OF CANCER TREATMENT!!!!!

Everything else here has been pretty quiet . Soon it will be Thanksgiving and the Nason's will be here !!! Emma can't wait to see Charlotte. And after that the big day, DEC. 12th!!!! We can't wait!!! 30 days to go!

The Emerald City

Today Emma, Elena, Stevie, Auntie Tracy, Uncle Frank and I took the kids to see the Wizard of Oz at the Palace Theater. Emma was in heaven. She sang every song, laughed out loud, and when the Wicked Witch of the West came out for the first time ( her favorite) she cheered. She loved it so much she asked if we could go again next week. I'm so glad that she is old enough to enjoy the theater. She told me that she does not like the movies, it is to boring, but a play she will go to any day !

Happy Halloween..... Now on to the Turkey

We had a wonderful Halloween night. Pat, Em and I went up to Southington to go trick or treating with Elena , Steve, and the neighborhood kids. They were out about 3 hrs. When we woke up on Nov. 1st, Emma told me that we had to take down all of the Halloween decorations down to make room for all of the turkeys that we are going to make. So we packed everything away, threw away our rotting jack -o-lanterns, and now we need to get started on our turkeys........stay tuned!

A Pumpkin for Nonno

Today after we had lunch at my Mom's we decided that we would go and pick out pumpkins for Elena and Stevie at Tara Farm in Watertown. The Farm is right across the street from the cemetery where my Dad is buried so we decided to pick out a pumpkin for him. The kids loved it. We had not been there for a while, it was really nice and peaceful to be there. The three kids put the pumpkin down and said hello to him, and then we came home and had hot chocolate and banana bread. It was a nice quiet day, I think that it was a good idea to lay low because Emma still isn't feeling quite herself so we didn't do much today, so that she will be feeling fine for Halloween.
